On February 2nd, members of Broncos Media had the incredible opportunity to accompany Mr. Wald to Marquette University, where they collaborated with industry professionals to help produce a live broadcast of the Silver Circle Awards for the National Academy of Arts & Sciences. Recordings from this broadcast will be used for a regional segment of the Emmy Awards!

The invitation to participate in this prestigious event came just two weeks prior, when Mr. Wald received a call from the President of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. Facing a shortage of staff for the production, they reached out to Union Grove High School because of the high-quality programming consistently produced by the Broncos Media group, which has been showcased at the annual WBA Awards for Excellence held at Lambeau Field.

Held in the Alumni Hall Ballroom at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, the awards ceremony honored individuals who have made significant and impactful contributions to the television industry, celebrating their excellence and enduring influence.

The day began early, with a 6:30 am call time. Students assisted with running cables, setting up broadcast equipment, mounting cameras, connecting sound hardware, and preparing graphics and media for live screens and the broadcast. The Director of the show estimated nearly $300,000 worth of mobile equipment was used on-site for the event.

After receiving training on the advanced equipment they would be stationed at, students participated in rehearsals starting at 10:00 am. During the pre-ceremony luncheon, they were thrilled to see numerous well-known television personalities gathered to honor those being inducted into the Silver Circle, an elite group recognized for their exceptional contributions and influence on the industry.

Once the live broadcast concluded, the students helped tear down and load equipment, wrapping up an unforgettable day of hands-on learning.

This unique experience not only showcased the students' skills but also highlighted the exceptional education and real-world opportunities offered through Broncos Media. We look forward to seeing these talented students continue to shine in future endeavors!

Students who participated: Sofia Anastasovski, Karsten Luedtke, Amy Aude, Harrison Bauer, and Trystin Morgan.

Union Grove High School is proud of our Broncos Media team for their hard work and dedication, and we’re excited for more opportunities that allow our students to gain valuable, hands-on experiences outside of the classroom.
